The court imposed a 6-month driving ban and a 1,44-pound fine on Egypt’s football team captain and former English club Liverpool player Mohamed Salah for speeding.

According to court documents, Salah’s Rolls Royce was recorded by a speed camera traveling at 36 mph (58 km/h) on a road with a 30 mph limit in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on March 27.

Mohamed Salah did not provide police with information on who was driving the vehicle at the time. He also did not respond to the legal notice issued by the police and did not give his stand on the charge.

During a hearing at Warrington Combined Court, Salah was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay a total of £1,044 in fines.

The incident came just days after the Egypt captain announced that he would end his 9-year spell with Liverpool. On March 24, Liverpool announced Salah’s departure, citing him as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

Mohamed Salah scored 257 goals in 442 matches for Liverpool. After the end of the 2025–26 season, he moved to Turkish club Trabzonspor.
