Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday arrived in New Delhi on a one-day visit after 7 years where he attended the BRICS Summit.

Extraordinary security arrangements were made in New Delhi for Xi Jinping’s visit, with the Chinese president staying at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, which was declared a no-fly zone.

Anti-terrorism and bomb disposal teams remained deployed at the hotel while special checks were also carried out to identify nuclear, radiological and biological threats, underground pipelines and other facilities around the hotel were also inspected.

China had delivered Xi Jinping’s official limousine, replacement vehicle and communication equipment to India by cargo plane about 10 days ago.

Xi Jinping stayed in India for about 24 hours and left at around 11 am yesterday.

The Chinese president travels in a specially modified Boeing 747-8 aircraft equipped with secure communication systems, threat detection equipment, missile defense protection systems and electromagnetic interference protection.

The plane is also equipped with a secret communication system to keep the Chinese president in touch with government and military command centers.

According to Indian media, more than 15,000 police personnel and 200 companies of paramilitary forces were deployed throughout New Delhi in view of the BRICS summit, barriers were erected at various places and vehicles were searched.

More than 700 surveillance cameras and 5 control rooms were arranged along the route from President Xi Jinping Airport to Shantipath.
