The Inter-Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has appointed the chairman of Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi, Faqir Muhammad Lakhu, as the chairman of SBCC.

According to the notification issued by IBCC on Wednesday, the meeting of all examination boards of Sindh was held on August 28, 2026, in which Faqir Muhammad Lakho was unanimously nominated as the chairman of SBCC. His appointment will be effective for one year from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

The notification states that the future SBCC chairman will be appointed from each examination board of Sindh on an annual basis, all official correspondence related to the Sindh Boards Committee of Chairman will also be addressed to Faqir Muhammad Lakhu.

It should be clear that Faqir Muhammad Lakh Along with being the Chairman of the Intermediate Board Karachi, he also holds the additional charge of the Chairman of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Hyderabad.

The SBCC includes the heads of Sindh Board of Technical Education and Ziauddin University Examination Board along with the education boards of Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas.
