Fear of food poisoning from these foods during monsoon

Fear of food poisoning from these foods during monsoon

During the rainy season, the humidity in the air increases, which provides a favorable environment for the growth of bacteria and fungi.

However, according to medical experts, special care should be taken in consuming some of the foods listed in monsoon.

Fruits and salads sold in street markets and stalls are easily exposed to airborne germs and contaminated water.

Also, the moisture in the leafy layers of leafy vegetables harbors insects, dirt and bacteria, which can be dangerous to eat without proper washing.

Monsoon is the breeding season for fish and other marine life, so the possibility of food poisoning from seafood increases during this season due to polluted water.

Frequent use of oil and contaminated water for samosas, pakoras, and golagaps can lead to severe stomach infections.

Milk, yogurt, and cheese spoil quickly in heat and humidity, allowing bacteria and viruses to grow in them.

Similarly, the ice used in roadside drinks is usually not made from clean water, which causes cholera and typhoid.

Besides, by eating half-cooked meat or eggs in monsoon, bacteria enter the body and cause severe food poisoning.
