Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has formed a media and entertainment production company with his longtime chief of staff, Katie Telford.

The new company is called Hope & Hardwork, which was announced via a website launched on Friday.

According to reports, the company will present stories through film, television, audio and live entertainment experiences aimed at fostering mutual understanding and connection between people.

The company’s name is inspired by a phrase that Justin Trudeau used repeatedly in his speeches after becoming leader of Canada’s Liberal Party in 2013. He continued to use this phrase during his tenure as Prime Minister from 2015 to 2025.

The company’s launch comes as the Toronto International Film Festival is underway, which began on Thursday and runs through September 20.

Justin Trudeau, 54, recently stepped down as prime minister, having announced his resignation as Liberal Party leader in January last year. He took this decision after mounting pressure from party members, as the party’s popularity was declining ahead of the general elections.

After Trudeau, the leader of the Liberal Party, Mark Carney, took over as Prime Minister of Canada.

Justin Trudeau has largely stayed out of the public eye since leaving government, although he has occasionally attended public events, his alleged relationship with American pop singer Katy Perry has also gained attention in recent times.
