Technology company Google, maintaining its tradition, paid tribute on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day through a specially prepared doodle.

Google, the world’s most used search engine, has been decorating its homepage with the Pakistani flag every year on August 14 for the past decade.

This year’s design features the green and white national flag of Pakistan flying prominently against a sky-blue background, while Google is written in cloud-like text in the background.

The overall scene evokes the impression of a national flag flying high above the clouds.

The August 14 doodle appears on the home page of users searching Google from Pakistani IP addresses and sometimes in other regions with a large Pakistani population.

Apart from Independence Day, Google has also paid tribute to Pakistani culture and notable personalities through various doodles over the years.

Among them are legendary qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, well-known social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi and other national figures, who played an important role in shaping the identity of Pakistan at the global level.
