Pakistan’s leading singer Hassan Rahim’s hit Coke Studio hit song has become part of Netflix’s new dance comedy film Best of the Best.

Releasing on Netflix from September 18, the story revolves around two childhood friends, Maya and Anjali, who join the competitive Bollywood fusion dance team at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and compete to win the American championship.

Through this Netflix film, the Pakistani singer’s music was added to the Bollywood fusion soundtrack.

The Pakistani singer’s song ‘Peche Hit’ was first performed in 2022 on Coke Studio Season 14, where Hassan Rahim performed the song along with Justin Justin Babies and Talal Qureshi.

The song was released on 19 February 2022 and its official music video has been viewed over 28 million times on YouTube.

The lyrics of the song were written by Hasan Rahim, while its story was composed by Hasan Rahim and Zulfi.

Talal Qureshi and Zulfi worked on the song’s lyrics, arrangement and production, while Talal Qureshi also composed the hook line.

Best of Best also features songs from Blackpink, Enhype, Hanuman Kind and AR Rahman, among others.

The film’s soundtrack features international pop and hip-hop songs along with Pakistani and South Asian music.

Directed by Leena Khan, the film stars Maitri Ramakrishnan as Maya, Priyanka Kedia as Anjali, Hasan Minhaj as Professor Hamza Latif.
