Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz has described the Yemeni Houthis as a ‘terrorist militia’ and their attempt to target Mecca as a ‘heinous crime’.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, King Salman has said that targeting the holy city is an attempt to inflame the feelings of Muslims around the world.

He has paid tribute to the Saudi army and security agencies for defending the holy places, pilgrims and citizens.

According to Arab media, Saudi Arabia said last week that the drone sent by the Houthis to Makkah has been intercepted, but the Houthis denied this allegation and called it false.

On the other hand, various cities, energy centers and ships have also been targeted in Houthi missile and drone attacks, including the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Last week, the Saudi coalition claimed to have intercepted a ballistic missile fired towards Riyadh.
