ISLAMABAD (Rana Ghulam Qadir) During the tenure of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a historic increase of 77,370 billion rupees has been revealed in the debts of the federal government in the last four years, while in comparison to this, the debts of the federal government have increased by 18,323 billion rupees in the last four years of the PTI era. The details were revealed based on the documents of the State Bank of Pakistan. During the first four years of Shahbaz Sharif’s first and current government, the federal government’s debts increased by 104 percent compared to the four fifth years of the PTI government. The documents of the State Bank of Pakistan show that during the 16 months of April 2022 to July 2023, during the first term of Shahbaz Sharif as Prime Minister, the federal government’s debts increased by 18 thousand 764 billion rupees, while the federal government’s debts increased during the first 29 months of the current Shahbaz Sharif government from March 2024 to July 2026. There was an increase of 18 thousand 543 billion rupees.
