A video of a human-robot fight quickly went viral on the Internet, in which Internet personality Frankie Lapina took on a 6-foot-tall humanoid robot.

The unusual encounter took place at an event at REK, which organizers have described as the world’s first human versus ‘terminator’ robot fight.

In the viral video, Frankie Lapina is seen throwing several punches at the robot, which initially has difficulty coping with the attack.

Later, the robot also started throwing punches and kicks, one powerful kick knocked Lapina back several feet, while another kicked him against the wall, however Lapina continued the fight and defeated the robot.

After the video surfaced, social media users started comparing the match to the movie ‘Terminator’.

Some users have questioned how a real professional fighter would fare against this robot.

However, this artificial intelligence-powered robot was not autonomous, but was operated by a human via remote control.

REC is developing a robot fight system that pits humans against other robots by controlling humanoid robots through virtual reality technology.

The company has held robot-versus-robot competitions in the past, but putting Lapina in a cage with a robot showcased the power of these machines in a different way.
