The container owners say that the Islamabad police also took the containers full of medicines into custody.

The container owners have said that the containers were carrying medicines for Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Due to the heat, there is a risk of spoilage of the medicines in the containers.

The owners say that the police have also taken the keys and documents of the containers from us. The driving license, bill receipt and other documents were also taken away by the police.

Interior Minister orders Islamabad Police to release medicine containers

Later Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi contacted IG Islamabad Police and Chief Commissioner Islamabad.

Mohsin Naqvi issued orders for the immediate release of the containers of medicines taken into custody.

Mohsin Naqvi said that medicine containers and vehicles should not be stopped under any circumstances. The relevant police and administrative authorities should ensure strict implementation of the instructions in this regard.
