Indian music composer Salim Merchant has revealed the reason for avoiding film music and has said that during the time of Covid, I realized that film music is not making me happy.
In an interview, Salim Merchant said that I no longer compose songs for films because it is no longer an art but a job.
According to the composer, composing songs for films has become difficult now because the entire process involves many people, which in turn affects the true meaning of the art.
He said that music has become a set-up, you have to connect with a lot of people, now it’s not just the director, but the producer, the record label, the actor and sometimes the platform like Netflix.
According to Salem Merchant, by the end of this long and complicated process, art loses its original spirit, which is why I haven’t composed music for a film in the last 6 years.
After Saleem Merchant’s statement, some fans are speculating that possibly Arijit Singh also announced his retirement from film music for the same reason.
It should be noted that in January of this year, Lal Ishq singer Arijit Singh announced on Instagram that he has decided to retire from singing and will not accept new projects, however he also clarified that he will complete his current projects.
After this announcement of the singer, various speculations were being made by his fans.
What is the real reason behind Arijit Singh’s decision is still unclear, however, the recent statement of singer and musician Salim Merchant has made fans think that this may be the reason why Arijit has also decided to retire from singing.
