Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has urged Iran and the US to adopt a prudent attitude and show restraint.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi.

In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the continuation of hostilities and fighting is not in the interest of any party or the international community.

He said that effective measures should be taken to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, not wanting the tension in the region to increase and spread to Yemen and the Red Sea.

The Chinese Foreign Minister has said that Iran and the United States should show prudence and restraint, and supports negotiations between Iran and the Gulf countries.
