The eighth meeting of the Pakistan-France Joint Security Commission was held in Islamabad, in which the Pakistani delegation was led by Federal Secretary Defense Lt. Gen. Retd. Muhammad Ali, while the French delegation was led by Secretary General for Defense and National Security Nicolas Roche.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the meeting discussed high-level security and defense cooperation and reviewed progress on the decisions of the Seventh Joint Security Commission in Paris in 2022.

According to the spokesman, Pakistan and France agreed to continue bilateral talks and contacts.

According to the spokesman, it was also agreed to review defense cooperation and continue bilateral communication in the upcoming staff talks. Pakistan and France discussed regional security situation and emerging security challenges.

According to the spokesman, the commitment to increase cooperation against terrorism, drug trafficking, piracy and other international crimes was also reiterated.

According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, the Pakistan-France Joint Security Commission is an institutional forum for consultation on security and defense issues. The next meeting of the Joint Security Commission will be held in France on mutually agreed dates.
