Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced yesterday that the government is preparing a legal initiative to limit the number of foreign students in schools and to ban the burqa and hijab.

According to foreign media reports, Giorgia Meloni, speaking at the National Youth Festival Phoenix organized by the youth organization of her party Brothers of Italy (FdI), said that it should never be the case that Italian children feel like minorities in the classrooms.

He said that it is unimaginable that Italian children in an Italian classroom should feel themselves in a corner just because they have become a minority, it cannot happen.

The Italian Prime Minister said the government will ban the burqa and hijab in schools.

He said that learning Italian will also be made compulsory for parents of foreign students, especially for parents whose children have difficulties integrating into the school system.

According to the Prime Minister, these proposed measures are expected to be presented before the Council of Ministers soon.
