Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry says that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s amended Police Act will be challenged in the Supreme Court, the federal government has many options on the amended Police Act.

While holding a press conference in Islamabad, he has said that there are reservations on the proposed Police Act of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, only specific powers have been given to the provinces under the 18th Amendment.

Talal Chaudhry says that Sohail Afridi has not only taken back the powers of the IG but has destroyed the structure.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs has said that the powers of the police are being limited in the proposed Police Act, you have not only withdrawn the powers of the IG but have destroyed the entire command.

He has questioned that now any structure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police will be maintained? The political interference in the proposed police act is clearly visible.

The Minister of State said that their founder used to teach lessons and give examples from the West that institutions should be free from politics, the job of the police is to maintain law and order.

Talal Chaudhry says that there are 125 routes coming to Islamabad which are open, the government does not take steps on its own.
