Negotiations between Jamaat-e-Islami and the government on the issue of petroleum levy are continuing, the government has asked Jamaat-e-Islami for three more days.

According to sources, the government delegation has asked Jamaat-e-Islami not to call for a long march towards Islamabad for three more days.

The Jamaat-e-Islami delegation headed by Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch reached Punjab House for negotiations with the government delegation. The government negotiation team was led by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

The government team included Rana Sanaullah, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik and Bilal Azhar Kayani.

Earlier, on September 7, the delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami under the leadership of Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch had submitted suggestions and recommendations to the government regarding the prices of petroleum products.
