Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have claimed that the head of the financial department of Hamas, Muhammad Abu Alwan, has been martyred as a result of the Israeli attack in Khan Yunis.

The attack was carried out during a ceasefire in effect from October 2025, when it was agreed to end military operations under the ceasefire agreement.

In a joint statement issued on the X account of the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu And Israel Katz praised the Israeli military and internal intelligence agency for the operation, which he described as a precise and targeted operation.

Earlier, two people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis, but it is not clear if the attack Netanyahu is referring to is the same attack.
