The Israeli newspaper reported that Netanyahu will leave for the United States today and will return to Israel immediately after his speech at the United Nations without meeting with the American president.

According to the newspaper, with the Knesset elections on October 27 about a month away, Netanyahu’s speech will be aimed mainly at Israeli voters, but he is expected to face a hostile reaction in New York.

The Israeli media described Netanyahu’s meeting schedule as very limited and said that he has scheduled meetings with 2 pro-Israel leaders on the occasion of the General Assembly, but the names of these leaders were not mentioned in the report.

The Israeli newspaper quoted an unnamed source familiar with the preparations for the visit as saying that Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations is a campaign speech whose main purpose is to address Israel’s potential voters.
