Karachi (Afzal Nadeem) The investigation into the incident of power bank explosion and fire in the flight of Dutch airline KLM is going on. The cause of the accident was not the power bank of an ordinary passenger but KLM Airlines’ own former CEO Kamiel Orlings. He was traveling in business class and was charging his power bank during the flight in violation of airline rules. The explosion damaged the business class seat, its side wall and the window shade. Crews quickly brought the fire under control with the help of fire blankets and equipment. In this incident, the former CEO himself was slightly injured while all the other passengers were safe. The airline has confirmed that no fines or penalties will be levied against the former CEO for violating the rules and that it will remain exempt from punishment. The airline is investigating what caused the lithium battery to overheat. The incident occurred on flight KL735 from Amsterdam to Curacao after about 5.5 hours of travel over the Atlantic Ocean.
