
Federal Minister of Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has said that Pakistan has come to the 34th place in the ranking of 900 ports. Global shipping connectivity of Karachi Port has improved significantly.
He has said in a statement that the port liner shipping connectivity index score of Karachi port has reached 343 which is a reflection of strong integration with global trade.
Junaid Anwar said that the Port Liner Shipping Connectivity Index is based on the data of around 900 ports around the world and according to its data, Pakistan’s position has come to 34th place in the global ranking.
He has said that better connectivity of Karachi port is a reflection of strong integration with global trade, better maritime connectivity here will create new opportunities for exporters and strengthen Pakistan’s global trade position.
The Federal Minister of Maritime Affairs has also said that the development of ports and trade facilitation are among the government’s priorities.
