A Porter Airlines flight from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada to Toronto was canceled after a young child refused to sit in his seat and fasten his seat belt.

According to the report, Porter Airlines flight PD444 had departed from the terminal and was preparing to take off when the crew noticed a child standing in his seat.

The flight attendants and the child’s parents tried for a long time to convince him to fasten his seat belt, but the child continued to resist.

Aviation safety rules require all passengers to sit in their seats and fasten their seat belts, so the plane could not take off.

According to the airline, due to unsafe conditions, the aircraft was brought back to the terminal and the concerned passengers were disembarked.

After arriving back at the gate, it took a long time to get the family off the plane, retrieve their luggage and complete the necessary travel and security documents.

All this action continued till after 12:30 pm, while the main runway of Victoria International Airport is closed every night at 12:30 pm, due to which the plane could not take off again.

After the flight was cancelled, all the remaining passengers had to spend the night in Victoria.

Porter Airlines apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers and booked them on alternative flights the next day.
