Departmental action has been initiated against 6 officers of the hospital on behalf of the management of Pims tragedy, 14 days time has been given to submit the reply.
A charge sheet has been issued against Prof. Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar, Executive Director of PIMS Hospital, in which Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar has been accused of failure in fire safety and administrative supervision.
According to the charge sheet, corrective measures were not taken after the July 6 nursing hostel fire accident.
In the chargesheet, Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar is accused of holding clinical and administrative posts simultaneously, while it also alleges violation of rules in the appointment and promotion of the Executive Director.
The chargesheet also alleged failure to take temporary safety measures despite emergency funds.
The chargesheet has alleged failure to communicate effectively with the relevant agencies after the July 6 fire incident.
Dr Nigham Nawaz has been accused of not being present at the Neonatal Unit on the night of the accident, his absence has been termed administrative negligence.
Departmental action has also been initiated against Professor Dr. Sadia Riaz. Dr. Sadia Riaz is accused of failing to provide and supervise staff in the Neonatal Unit.
According to the chargesheet, Muhammad Usman is accused of failure to maintain fire safety and security arrangements, and is also accused of being absent from the PIMs on August 26 on unauthorized station leave.
Apart from this, Mohammad Usman is also accused of not ensuring the training of fire fighting equipment, emergency routes and security personnel, while he is also accused of not taking corrective measures despite being a member of July Fire Inquiry.
A charge sheet has also been issued against Joint Executive Director Waris Ali Raza. He is accused of failing to supervise security, engineering, maintenance and fire safety.
Waris Ali Raza is accused of not contacting the relevant departments for the timely correction of security flaws.
All the officers have been given 14 days time to submit written reply. The charge sheet mentions the possibility of heavy punishments including dismissal from employment.
