A lawsuit has been filed against Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceXAI and Google for allegedly colluding and colluding to slow down the development of artificial intelligence.

The lawsuit, filed in California’s Northern District Court, alleges that the companies violated antitrust laws by agreeing to slow down the development of artificial intelligence, which could reduce the benefits consumers receive from artificial intelligence services.

According to the text of the lawsuit filed, on September 12, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei proposed industry-wide cooperation to slow AI progress and increase security measures, which was agreed to by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SpaceXAI CEO Elon Musk, and Google DeepMind CEO DeMs Hassabs on the same day.

The lawsuit has been filed by 4 customers who have purchased subscriptions to ChatGPT, Cloud, Grok or Gemini while it is being presented as a class action representing other customers across the country.

Nick Rowley, a lawyer for the petitioners, says that given the risk of AI becoming out of human control, decisions about its safety should not be made through private and self-interested contracts.

The companies did not immediately respond to the lawsuit.
