It has been decided to introduce modern technology to monitor smoke emitting vehicles in Punjab.

According to the spokesperson of Department of Environment and Climate Change, Punjab, emission scanning system will be installed at 9 main entrances and exits of Lahore.

He said that advanced remote sensing devices will measure the pollutants in the vehicle’s emissions without stopping the vehicle.

Similarly, vehicle registration number, speed, acceleration and scanning time will also be recorded.

Secretary Environment says that action against environmental pollution will be made more effective with modern technology.

He also said that the Vehicular Emission Scanning System project is being developed under the Lahore Air Improvement Framework.
