Senior actor Rashid Mehmood met Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, in which the difficulties faced by senior artists in the country’s showbiz industry were discussed.

During the meeting, Rashid Mehmood informed about his current situation and said that despite serving for decades for Pakistani television, the work opportunities for senior actors have become limited.

The actor had earlier said in a video statement that I have been unemployed for several months and it is becoming difficult for me to meet daily expenses.

The senior actor also mentioned the rising prices of fuel, food items and other essential items.

He told that I am suffering from joint pain for the last 5 months and I am also a heart patient.

Talking about his career, Rashid Mehmood said that artists like us played an important role in laying the foundations of Pakistan’s television industry.

He described receiving the Presidential Award as a blessing from Allah Ta’ala.

It should be noted that Rashid Mehmood has acted in dramas like ‘Shaheen’, ‘Andhira Ajala’, ‘Mirza Ghalib’, ‘Riyast’ and ‘Mohbat Roth Jaye To’.

He is also famous for playing strong and negative roles in several dramas.
