ISLAMABAD (Saleh Zafar) Pakistan has signed a safeguards agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for Chashma Unit-5 (C-5), marking a major milestone in the history of its nuclear power programme. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the agency’s 70th General Conference at the IAEA headquarters with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi. Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) Chairman Dr. Raja Ali Raza Anwar signed the agreement on behalf of Pakistan, while the ceremony was attended by China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) Chairman Shan Zhongde.
