In Sindh, polio virus has been confirmed in environmental samples taken from 5 districts during August this year.

According to the Emergency Operation Center Sindh, polio virus has been found in 1, 1 environmental samples from West, Korangi, Central and South districts of Karachi.

According to EOC Sindh, polio virus has also been found in 2 environmental samples from Hyderabad.

No polio virus was detected in the environmental samples of district Sharqi, Kemari and Malir, while the environmental samples of Ghotki, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Qamber were also negative.

According to the EOC, the environmental samples from Larkana, Kashmore, Dadu, Badin, Jamshoro, Sajawal, Mirpur Khas and Sanghar have also not confirmed poliovirus.

The Emergency Operation Center Sindh says that special attention will be given to anti-polio vaccination and other measures in the districts with positive samples.
