The Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan dismissed the appeal of Member of Assembly Imam Malik while issuing an important decision.

People’s Party’s Attaullah has been declared successful from Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly seat GBA 16 Diamer 2.

The Election Tribunal declared Ataullah successful after counting the postal ballot papers.

Form 49 was issued declaring Attaullah as successful by 13 votes. The Supreme Appellate Court suspended the decision of the Election Tribunal.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Appellate Court pronounced the decision after hearing the arguments of the parties.

In the June 7 election, independent candidate Imam Malik from GBA 16 Diamar 2 was declared successful without counting of postal ballot papers. Imam Malik later joined the Stability Pakistan Party.
