One policeman was martyred while another was injured due to firing by the accused near Karachi Airport.

Seeing a suspicious rickshaw near the airport near the airport, the policemen went for checking, and the occupants of the rickshaw opened fire, killing one officer and injuring another. The accused also fled with the official weapons of the martyred official.

According to police officials, when the fleeing suspects were stopped by the Gulshan Police near Gulshan Iqbal Moti Mahal, they opened fire again, in which one officer was injured by a bullet in the leg, but he continued to chase the accused along with his fellow officer even in the injured condition.

An accused was also injured in the retaliatory firing of the officials. Both the accused were caught in Joharabad area and government weapons were also recovered.

Police officials say that the martyred official was a resident of Quaid Abad, a father of two children and was originally from Attock.

CCTV footage of the incident was also received by Geo News in which the accused can be seen firing and carrying weapons.

Interior Minister Sindh Zia Linjar and IG Sindh Javed Alam Odhu have congratulated the police for arresting the accused.
