ISLAMABAD (Rana Ghulam Qadir) An economic think tank has recommended formulation of trade policy at the district level. According to EPBD, Pakistan’s strategic trade policy frameworks have consistently failed to achieve their core export targets from 2009 to 2025. Economic Policy and Business Development has issued a report on the failure of trade policies. The think tank says that after the 18th Amendment, industry, agriculture and skill sectors have been transferred to the provinces, but the trade policy is still at the central level. For the new trade policy framework, strategies should be developed at the district level from the grassroots level.
