A land bridge connecting Russia and North Korea was inaugurated.

The construction of the bridge over the Tuman River has been declared as an important milestone for the bilateral strategic partnership.

The first convoy of trucks decorated with the flags of Russia and North Korea crossed the one kilometer long bridge. Prime Ministers of Russia and North Korea also addressed the opening ceremony through video link.

The two countries have been discussing the construction of this bridge for years, and the project was agreed upon during the visit of Russian President Putin to North Korea last year.
