The reason for the unpleasant smell suddenly spreading in the coastal areas of Shahr-i-Quaid has been revealed.

According to Moazzam Khan, Technical Advisor of WWF Pakistan, this smell is produced by the decomposition of phytoplankton.

He said that due to the change in sea temperature, a large number of phytoplankton die and are washed ashore with the waves, where they decompose and create unpleasant odors.

According to Muazzam Khan, the end of monsoon and the decrease in wind speed affect the marine flora system.

It should be noted that the city of Quaid and its coastal area in particular has been under the grip of an unpleasant smell for a few days.
