Before the Asian Games 2026, the Indian cricket team will play a series of 3 T20 matches against Afghanistan, which will start from September 13.

According to Indian media, all-rounder Shivam Dubey has refused to call the series against Afghanistan a preparation for the Asian Games, saying that every series for the national team is played with full focus and the spirit of winning.

He said that playing against Afghanistan is a big challenge for my team and the Indian team will try hard to win the series.

On the other hand, Indian Cricket Board Vice President Rajeev Shukla has said that during the Asian Games, the Indian cricketers participating in the team will stay in the accommodation provided by the organizers, it will not be a facility like five-star hotels.

He said that because of the lack of high-quality hotels in Nagoya, Japan, the problem of accommodation has come to the fore, and the board and players are satisfied with the arrangements provided.

According to Rajeev Shukla, the board has seen pictures and videos of the accommodation and the arrangements are comfortable for the players.
