Tokyo: Community Welfare Attaché Zahra Dastgir posted at the Embassy of Pakistan in Japan has said that there are ample job opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in Japan, but due to lack of proper Japanese language training, Pakistan is not able to take full advantage of these opportunities.

She was addressing a dinner given in her honor by Malik Noor Awan, president of Muslim League-N Japan.

Zahra Dastgir said that despite continuous efforts, the required number of standard Japanese language teaching institutions could not be established in Pakistan. For this reason, a very small number of Pakistani youths are coming to Japan for employment as compared to Nepal, India and Bangladesh.

He said that the embassy is Pakistan’s effort to establish more Japanese language schools and training centers in the country. For this purpose, contacts are ongoing with government universities and related institutions, while the private sector should also step forward and take advantage of this important opportunity.

Malik Noor Awan said that the PML-N government wants more and more Pakistanis to go abroad on work visas legally and honorably. The government is focusing on discouraging illegal migration and opening legal channels for skilled youth.

Asad Nawaz Khan, Advisor of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Chairman Syed Qamar Raza Shah in Japan, Senior Vice President of Muslim League-N Japan Chaudhry Ansar and other important and respected personalities of the Pakistani community were also present in the event.
