Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has given a clear answer to the critics of the defense agreement.

Addressing former US ambassador James Jeffrey on the question of passing the unity test, he asked how many times Article 5 of collective defense in the NATO Charter was applied in fifty years.

The Turkish Foreign Minister said that in the fifty years of NATO, Article 5 was implemented only once, but no one is calling it a paper lion.

Haqan Fidan also called the demand for an immediate solution to the Yemen crisis through a new defense alliance inappropriate.
