The United Nations Human Rights Agency has expressed concern over the remains of Palestinian martyrs found in destroyed buildings in Gaza.

Volker Turk, head of the United Nations Human Rights Agency, said in his statement that the discovery of Palestinian remains in Gaza has raised concerns about Israeli war crimes.

He said that the remains of whole families are being removed from the places destroyed by the Israeli attacks, a large number of the remains are women and children.

Volker Turk said it was “sad to see the worst fears of the loved ones of the long-missing persons confirmed.”

He said the finding of remains in Gaza is reviving the concerns raised in the 2024 UN report.

Volker Turk added that the Israeli attacks may constitute a violation of international humanitarian law.
