A report released by a US government watchdog has officially confirmed that the US military is facing a shortage of strategic weapons stockpiles and severe disruptions in the supply of advanced weapons after months of direct war with Iran.

The report, jointly prepared by the inspector generals of the US Department of Defense, the State Department and the Agency for International Development, details for the first time the US government’s depletion of critical munitions stockpiles and extensive damage to US installations in the Middle East.

Experts included in the report estimate that it could take up to 3 years for defense equipment companies to restore the stockpile of advanced missiles and defensive missiles to pre-war levels.

The report also details extensive damage to US facilities.

According to the report, hundreds of buildings and other structures at US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Jordan were destroyed or damaged as a result of the Iranian attacks.

According to the report, dozens of American planes and drones were also damaged or destroyed in the attacks.
