ISLAMABAD (Khalid Mustafa) Officials have said that Pakistan has received one more LNG cargo from Qatar after diplomatic efforts by Iranian officials. The cargo has passed through the Strait of Hormuz and is expected to reach Port Qasim in a few days. This is the second LNG cargo from Qatar received by Pakistan this month, which is expected to provide some relief to the country’s power sector. There are continuous problems in gas supply in the country and long load shedding in many areas. An official of the Petroleum Division told The News that the cargo had passed through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz safely. Pakistan received its first LNG shipment from Qatar this month on September 10, when the ship Al Maruna arrived from Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal with about 81,936 metric tons of LNG.
