NASA astronomers using the European Space Agency’s Hubble Space Telescope have obtained a stunning image of the curved galaxy NGC 1511. It is located in the Hydrus cluster, about 50 million light-years from Earth.

This curved galaxy was discovered by astronomer John Herschel on November 2, 1834, and is the central member of a cluster of galaxies called the NGC 1511 group. According to experts using Hubble, NGC 1511 does not travel alone in space like other galaxies, but is accompanied by two galaxies, NGC 1511a and NGC 1511b, which are outside the frame of this Hubble image. These galaxies are held together by a narrow band of hydrogen.
