NASA astronaut Anil Menon shared a video of cutting and cooking fresh vegetables grown on the International Space Station.

In the video, Anil Menon and astronaut Jessica Meyer can be seen cutting and preparing kale and wasabi mustard leaves grown on the space station, vegetables grown for about a month in space.

According to international media reports, the experiment was conducted in NASA’s special plant growth chamber with the aim of learning how plants grow in zero gravity.

According to scientists, this research could be important for the Moon, Mars and other long-duration space missions.

Growing fresh vegetables in space could provide astronauts with extra nutrients and have a positive effect on their mental health and morale during long missions, while also reducing the need to send food from Earth into space in the future.

Anil Menon thanked NASA’s vegetable research team and said that these methods could help grow food for future space travel.

Referring to the movie ‘The Martian’ astronaut Mark Watney who grew potatoes on Mars, he said that if Mark Watney had seen this successful experiment, he would have been very happy to see it.
