The Ministry of Interior has decided to consult with all the stakeholders on the issue of the government’s ban on children’s use of social media.

According to sources, this decision was taken in view of increasing incidents of child exploitation and obscenity on social media.

According to sources, there is a proposal to set an age limit for the use of social media. Also included are suggestions to control obscenity in the name of family vlogging.

In this regard, sources further say that like many countries, banning some social media platforms is under consideration. The final decisions will be taken during the consultation meeting in the Ministry of Interior, in which PTA, NCCIA and federal and provincial police officials will participate.

According to the sources, child exploitation and obscenity cases will be reviewed in the meeting, social media policies of different countries including Australia will also be reviewed.
