A Belgian car salesman became a legitimate prince at the age of 26.

According to foreign media reports, the 26-year-old was recognized as the son of King Philip’s younger brother, Prince Laurent.

Clemon VandenKirckhoff was born in August 2000 to Belgian singer Wendy van Vanten, whose real name is Iris VandenKirckhoff.

Clemon VandenKirckhoff’s mother did not tell her son the identity of his father until he was 16.

Vanden Kirkhof later contacted Prince Laurent, who agreed to a DNA test, which confirmed that Prince Laurent was his biological father.

According to the British newspaper The Telegraph, about 6 months ago, the two officially announced their relationship through a simple ceremony at the town hall, after which Prince Laurent also registered his paternity in the Belgian civil registry.

After this legal recognition, Vanden Kirkhoff received the same inheritance rights in Prince Laurent’s private estate as his 3 half-siblings.

They include 20-year-old Princess Louise, 19-year-old twins Prince Nicholas and Prince Emery, the children of Prince Laurent and his wife Princess Claire.

Clemmon VandenKirckhoff will not receive a royal stipend or perform official duties on behalf of the royal family, nor will he have any claim to the Belgian throne.
