In the book, Spencer claims that King Charles III was “very happy” on the phone after Princess Diana’s death on August 31, 1997, while in another conversation he allegedly said that people would soon forget Diana. According to Spencer, the two had a bitter argument about Prince William and Prince Harry walking behind the coffin at the funeral. And she later expressed concern about Prince Harry’s lack of care. The book describes Diana and Charles’ marriage as unhappy, saying that Diana tried to end the engagement before the wedding because Charles did not love her, but her father did not allow it.
