Board of Governors of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and member of Prime Minister’s Japan Committee Chaudhry Asif Mehmood held an important meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

In the meeting, bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan, trade, investment and various issues of mutual interest including increasing cooperation in private sectors were discussed in detail. Adviser to Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan was also present on this occasion.

Chaudhry Asif Mehmood informed the Prime Minister about the services of the Pakistani community living in Japan, the links between the business circles of the two countries and the possibilities of increasing bilateral trade. He also presented various problems faced by Overseas Pakistanis before the Prime Minister and requested necessary steps for their immediate solution.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the services and performance of Chaudhry Asif Mehmood for highlighting the positive image of Pakistan in Japan, welfare of overseas Pakistanis and strengthening Pakistan-Japan relations. The Prime Minister also issued orders to immediately include him in the Board of Governors of Sheikh Zayed Hospital.

During the meeting, Chaudhry Asif Mehmood presented a beautiful gold-plated model of a traditional cultural house of Japan to the Prime Minister as a gift. Which was accepted by the Prime Minister and directed to submit it in the Tosha Khana as per the rules and regulations.

In the meeting, the commitment to further expand economic cooperation, investment and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Japan was also reiterated.
