Confirmation of polio virus in environmental samples of 6 districts of Karachi


Polio virus has been confirmed in the environmental samples of 6 districts of the city of Karachi.

According to the National Emergency Operation Center for Polio, polio virus has been found in the environmental samples of Karachi Central, Eastern, Kemari, Malir, Southern and Western.

According to NEOC, no trace of polio virus was found in 6 districts of Karachi during June.

In July, poliovirus was also confirmed in an environmental sample from Sindh’s Kashmore district.

Polio virus has also been found in the environmental samples of Chaman, Dera Bugti and Quetta districts of Balochistan.

The presence of polio virus has also been confirmed in the environmental samples of Bannu of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar.

Similarly, in the city of Rawalpindi, Punjab, polio virus was also found in the July environmental sample.
