Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal visited Pims Hospital in Islamabad where he was briefed by the Islamabad Health Regulatory Authority.

During the briefing, it was informed that a team of 15 experts of IHRA is present in Pims. Health facilities, patient safety and service delivery quality are being reviewed in PIMs.

During the briefing, it was also informed that the federal team will also review the implementation of manpower and related medical standards in PIMs. The objective of the comprehensive review is to improve the quality of health services in PIMs.

It should be noted that on August 26, a fire suddenly broke out in the gynecology ward of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the largest government hospital in Islamabad, as a result of which 14 newborns in the nursery died.
