Electricity was suspended in many areas after a fire broke out in the grid station of K Electric near Baloch Colony Expressway in Karachi.

Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan while talking to the media said that there was a fire in 3 panels of Baloch Colony Grid Station, there were fuel tanks on top of the panels, when we reached here, the flames were 30 to 40 feet high.

He said that the fire has been brought under control with the help of 8 fire tenders and 2 water bowsers and there was no loss of life, now the cooling process is going on.

According to local residents, electricity supply was suspended in Manzoor Colony, Baloch Colony, Mehmoodabad, PECHS due to the fire.

Assistant Commissioner Ferozeabad Jawaria Iqbal while talking to the media outside the Baloch Colony Grid Station said that the fire in the K Electric Grid Station has been brought under control, the fire brigade personnel reached the spot and extinguished the fire.

He said that there was no loss of life in the incident of fire, the electricity of the area was disconnected as a precaution.
