The Lahore High Court restrained all medical colleges of Punjab from expelling Afghan students from the colleges and canceling their examinations.
The court has said in the remarks that no one will either expel any Afghan medical college student or cancel his paper.
During the hearing on the petitions against expulsion of Afghan medical students from colleges, the lawyer of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) took the position that the Afghan students do not have legal documents.
Justice Khalid Ishaq remarked that when the students were admitted, how were they issued educational visas? 4 years of their lives wasted and now they are being sent back?
The court has questioned whether the PMDC received any order after which the notification was issued. Before expelling the students, they were heard once.
The court remarked that when these students were kind, it was being discussed all over the world, now the policy has changed?
PMDC’s counsel argued that it is a universal rule that one cannot stay in a country without a valid visa.
The court remarked that until yesterday these students were favourites, today the policy has changed, you should give death penalty to these students.
The court adjourned the proceedings on the application till the next meeting.
