Netflix is set to rotate its library of two of TV’s biggest crime dramas: NCIS on CBS and Law & Order on NBC in the US over the next few weeks. Here’s everything you need to know (so far all the details haven’t been officially announced yet) about the upcoming library swaps in late September and October.

Instead of licensing a large backlog of 20+ seasons at once (which costs a pretty penny), Netflix has secured rolling batches of seasons to keep its series lineup fresh. The benefit is that anyone who wants to dive in quickly can, but obviously, for completers, you’ll need to watch on their main streaming channel.
Now, both NCIS and Law & Order are gearing up for their next big update. Let’s analyze what’s coming and what’s coming.
NCIS gets another update on October 1st
If you turn on Netflix right now and jump into NCIS, you might be greeted with a bit of trepidation. Both currently available seasons – Season 18 and Season 19 – are displaying “Leaving Soon” notices. But don’t panic just yet! Although it appears that those specific seasons have moved out of the library, the CBS hit nautical action won’t be leaving Netflix entirely. So, what classes will we get?
If we look at Netflix’s recent track record of switching old seasons back and forth, our best guess is that we’ll be moving up the timeline to… Season 20 and 21. Of course, Paramount+ remains the best place to watch NCIS with 23 seasons available. Hulu is also streaming 11 seasons. Netflix previously held all previous seasons and was regularly the most watched show on Nielsen each year but has moved on to this Season selection phase available again in 2024.

Hulu is the best place to stream this show, with all 20 seasons, while Peacock is streaming 9 seasons, though it’s about to make a shuffle.
